I agree, an 8 rd .22 revolver is perfect, none of that .380 cocked and locked carry crap, no safety to fumble with, a gun that goes bang is enough for a purse gun, nobody wants to get shot with ANY caliber, lol

Agreed. 1st gun for anyone should be a revolver. Hard enough learning to shoot, sights, trigger, loud bang, etc without thinking of checking mag seating and racking slide, safety.

Not to mention clearing jams, which always happen for beginners especially. Limp writing, etc.

.22 for a 67 yo lady. 8 shot .22 perfect. 3” barrel.

Home defense, Mossberg .410 pistol grip shotgun. Short, light, but same power as a .44 mag with 1/4 the kick, and harder to miss. Mount a flashlight with palm activated switch. If it’s in the beam, it will get hit.

No semi autos for her, nothing with any kick. Old hands, easy to fracture on 67yo woman. Keep it Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

I've been trying to convince the non-gun wife to go with the Ruger LCR 22LR because of the simplicity. She's been very reluctant to have a "her" gun around, but I think I'm close. The krapola happening in other cities is swaying her. I even repaired/cleaned her deceased father's 22LR Marlin tube-fed rifle, but the parental tie still wouldn't get her to the range. I should probably spring for the $$$ and get the LCR for her, just in case. 😁
