Has there ever actually been a country called Palestine?
I don’t think there has - the people that claim that title need to go back to Jordan or wherever they’re from and assimilate.

By race, they are Caucasian
By ethnicity, they are Arab
BY culture they are desert nomads.
As the ME was “developed”, their nomadic tendencies drew them to southern Jordan...because no other Arab state would have the uneducated, violent, ‘dirty’ people.

So, no, there never was a Palestine nation.
Just a Palestine tribe of Arab ethnicity.

I seem to remember that it was renamed Palestine by the Romans after they razed Jerusalem in 70 AD. They named it after Israel's arch enemy the Philistines to further humiliate the Jews.

The word Palestine is from the Latin "Philistia". A first-century Roman governor of Judea asked his officials to determine Israel's worst enemy throughout history. The answer came back as "The Philistines." In order to force assimilation and to take away their culture because of their uprising in Judea, the governor mandated that the Israelites speak only Latin and to never refer to their land as Israel - instead Philistia - Latin for "The Land of the Philistines." Palestine is the Angle version of Philistia.

The ancient people named The Philistines, who frequently battled Israel/Judah throughout the Old Testament no longer exists - a dead culture. However, it is believed they were a sea-faring people and likely from present-day Macedonia - NOT ARABS.

The name of Philistia/Palestine stuck even to the point where Jews living in Israel called themselves Palestinians. The newspaper, "The Jerusalem Post" was originally called "The Palestinian Post". The Jerusalem Symphony was called The Palestinian Symphony.

All that changed in the late 1960s went a consulting firm told Yassar Arafat that in order to gain political sway and sympathy for his cause, he had to establish a connection to the land's history. Since then, the UN, international news media, and enemies of Israel have happily played along with the deception. The people who call themselves Palestinians are displaced Arabs - mostly from Jordan. There is no Palestinian history, no Palestinian coinage, no Palestinian art in history, no Palestinian language. They have no connection to the past other than the fabrication of Arafat, who by the way, claimed along with his brother to be a "Palestinian." He was an Egyptian.

Today some people even make the ridiculous comment that Jesus was a Palestinian. Stupid comment as the name never existed until 5 decades or more after Christ went to be with The Father around 32/33 A.D.
