I have to relate a fireworks story. In 1974 I was ten years old. I was at at a town’s 1,000 year anniversary. The Germans just happened to win the World Soccer Cup that night. You want to talk about a party? My step-grandfather was on the team that set them off. The fireworks that night were the measure everything else was measured by. It has not been topped until tonight. And I’ve been to Boston’s twice.

The best fireworks I’ve ever seen was for the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Brooklyn Bridge. I watched it from the roof of the apartment where I lived in Brooklyn, about 2. Lies from the bridge. It went on for more than a half hour, I think, and was spectacular. However, tonight’s, with it’s incredible coordination and messaging was far better. I wish I was there to see this.
