I am not sure what he could have done. If he spoke out he would be vilified; they were attacking him with the ban. He is limited by state's rights to counter a state order - unless he could prove some unconstitutionality. If he could declare HCQ an OTC drug the states could still block its sale. He seems to be pursuing an investigation of some governors for responsibility for senior deaths in nursing homes.
IMHO DJT & the GOP should be hollering about the hate-mongering Dems hoping many people would die if it would hurt POTUS, also trumpeting all the divisiveness they are constantly preaching AND blaming POTUS for it! They are letting the Dems get away with that unchallenged.
