There are government programs that pay hospitals for their Coronavirus cases. Hard to see the CV crisis ending when this gravy train is going on. Hospitals will classify any sniffle as CV, or suspected CV, in order to get money.
The government programs that pay people to not work (ie the unemployment insurance supplements) means that more people will advocate for the continued lockdown so that they can collect their money.
Government intervention always continues, at great expense, well beyond its theoretical period of usefulness. Whatever benefit “virtuous” politicians at one time saw in these CV programs, you can be sure that these now perverse-programs will remain in place for an extended period of time.
