I think they’ll have to come up with some other name for these floating planets than “islands”. Islands stay put. They do not float around. Personally, it astounds me to be told these rogue planets outnumber the stars, and yet nobody has actually seen one, nor has the subject ever come up up until the Year of Our Lord 2020?! Methinks someone is working on a new scam for getting billion$ in research funds. AGW has been shown up for the humungous crock it’s always been; so some new ones will need to be dreamed up.
What have the Romans ever done for us?
The aqueduct?
“reveal myriad rogue planets freely floating bodies that drift through our galaxy untethered to a star.”
I thought planets could only be created in the presence of a gravity field like that of a star.
Could comets be rouge planets .... ? Who can say definitively ...
Fascinating. Thanks for posting.
When Worlds Collide
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Worlds_Collide
One of the 2 worlds that enter our solar system has cities, no life as all was frozen. The planet warms up where those escaping earth can go to. I have the original and the sequel.
Pretty good books. “After Worlds Collide” is the better book to get.
