
That’s a very interesting chart.
I don’t understand the comments on the chart - it almost looks like those comments belong in some news article hyping the toll of the virus. The data don’t fit the comments.
comment: relatively small share of over 80 year olds..
Data: majority of deaths are over 80.
Also interesting in that the USA has a higher number of deaths below 80 than the other countries, but then is the lowest for the over 80 crowd.
I imagine a lot of that is just demographics. IIRC they were saying how Italy was hit so hard because they have so many elderly. I suppose some of it may also be related to health care facilities and attitudes for the elderly.
