1Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread. 3And He answered and said to them, Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4For God said, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER, and, HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH. 5But you say, Whoever says to his father or mother, Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God, 6he is not to honor his father or his mother. And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
The idea that there is an unbroken line of succession from Peter to the latest Antichrist pope is laughable. (can you say Medici?) The Medici's bought the papacy.
You think that any church that isn't under the authority of Rome is heretical. That is is more indictment than anything I could say.
Again, you prove my point.
My statement was not about Apostolic succession but the perspicuity of Scripture through time.
:: You think that any church that isn’t under the authority of Rome is heretical. ::
Is to laugh.
You divine how I think?
That’s black magic and the dark arts.
You might want to rethink your position.
And, besides, everyone here knows I am an orthodox Lutheran and reject the hierarchy of Rome.
Still, there are billions of Christians in the Roman Catholic tradition.
Sola fide.
Let us put this to bed.
I gave my opinion about Mac.
I was challenged to defend it.
I did so, using Scripture and historic (true) doctrine.
From that time forward, the reply-posts have boiled down to a defense a man and his earthly works.
My defense of the Scripture and doctrine stands on its own.
Now...let’s do the shyster Billy Graham?
