Not likely. This would be Petey's big day. Probably wouldn't want anything to detract from it; and I doubt a VEEP loser would be coming in on a private jet. In addition to that, I don't think the losers would put on a "good" face on such short notice. That's going to take at least another day.
My guess it that the LBGTQ+ staffers conned Biden into believing Petey would be the best way to motivate Democrat voters. My guess is that Trump will pick up another 10% of the black vote and 20% of the Latino vote.
Promising the “losers” a good cabinet position or some other cushy, well paying goverenment job will cover a lot of disappointment.
I still think Obama upset the apple cart in 08. I think the dems know they can’t embrace illegals and blacks for ever. They were in the process of trading races when Obama won. If they pick bottiegig it’s picking up where they left off imho. They will turn a blacks if he is.
