Trump signed executive orders today for a payroll tax cut, enhanced unemployment benefits, an eviction moratorium and student loan relief. Trump indicated all week that if Congress did not finalize a stimulus deal, he would take executive action to provide relief to the American people. One thing missing from today’s executive orders—second stimulus checks.
There is bipartisan support in Congress for a $1,200 stimulus check, and Trump supports a second round of stimulus checks too. Trump has even said second stimulus checks could be more than than $1,200. However, his executive orders do not include any checks.

Well, they have committed to a scorched earth policy, so, yes, yes, they are.
To your point about “this computer age”, if any are “old school” like myself (always file via paper/snail mail), don’t get refunds, and don’t have their financial info residing on IRS servers to facilitate direct deposit...methinks therein lies the problem. As we all know, the IRS is equally as efficient as the USPS, and when they have to revert to mailing paper checks, they don’t know what to do with themselves.
I haven’t received (nor do I need/want) an initial check either. However, if one arrives, like another FRiend in the thread mentioned, I’ll most likely donate some, and perhaps throw a SiriusXM receiver, and a couple more speakers in the boat.

All the better. Mondale? McGovern? Goldwater? They keep going like this, they might even lose New York and California! Unlikely, but when have they ever been this stupid before? There might not be enough dead people in Chicago to carry Illinois.
There are many readers on this forum who have been blessed financially.......and I fully understand their argument on this issue regarding the issuance of checks they do not need.
However, this issue will not help the President politically, especially after he floated the idea of another round of checks, maybe up to $1700 each.
I completely understand his hands are tied by the Democrat House and some Senate Republicans....but, sheesh, Mr. President, PLEASE make the effort to get a GOP Representative to at least introduce a STAND-ALONE bill for a second stimulus check....and FORCE the Dims to vote against it....and do it NOW.

We haven’t seen the details yet, but from his words it looks like you may get a break on the total 15.3%, since that is the amount you are paying. I’ll be glad when we see this fleshed out a little.
