Amo/ Out of Stock ?
Vanity post | today | me

Posted on 08/07/2020 7:13:01 AM PDT by CGASMIA68

All the big names are Out of Stock for 38spl 9mm and 357

Any input on those that indicate "Back order OK" as to aprox wait time would be appreciated.

Curious too, has demand slammed out put this much to cause this. If so I suppose its a good thing. If so maybe they should limit quantity on each purch to allow all of us to properly stock up

I’ve always had good luck with PPU. Works in all my guns.

"The fact is, while there is no definitive way to tally all the firearms in the United States, it is commonly accepted and reported that there are roughly 300 million firearms in the hands of law-abiding Americans."

I would check every cartridge of PMC, I bought some xm855 and a third of them had corrosion to varying degrees. Look for black stuff (zinc) inside the boxes.

Shelves have been bare here since lockdown started. Academy has nothing, a few rifle rounds, maybe a dozen of oddball pistol rounds lkke 38 super. No 9mm at all, no 357, 38. 40, 45, no 22 even, not even 22 shorts...

Pawn shop where I got my G2C had a few 9mm, guy hadn’t got price tags on all when I grabbed one...next day all gone. Odd brand I never heard of, he said that’s all he could get. They have a few pricey 22 rounds, can’t keep 9mil or 45, one box limit. Pistols fly off the shelf. Usually at least 5 people looking when I walk in. And this is not a huge town, under 50,000.

Another local guy had some 16 ga buckshot, I grabbed another box, and the last box of 9mm Academy had a week ago. Ammo snobs are a thing of the past, you grab whatever they have or go home without.

Same story everywhere. Guy 45 miles from here, small place, can’t find reloading primers, he’ll have to come here for them. Told me it’s the same there, bare shelves.

But don’t kid yourselves that liberals are not also armed. Remember the AK 47 guy in Austin? Video of black militant group? Why do you think Hill and Billary had to tone down their gun control rhetoric? When they tried to pass the Brady bill they found out a lot more democrats than they ever imagined were pissed, they like to hunt deer too...Hillary spent most of a speech trying to make it sound like less of a total gun ban than it really was, to placate their base. If they had got their way we’d be able to own nothing but single shot shotguns now...but they found out democrats at home did not like that.

Same today, lots of 1st time buyers are democrats, and some old timers. I have immediate family members who are lifetime democrats and carry pistols in the car.

Don’t think it’s going to be a cake walk...

Remember the 1st rule of combat...

Never underestimate your adversary...

.38 Super is a great round. Light .357 performance. During one of the previous ammo freak outs I managed to score 5000 rounds of it at 1990 prices. The trick is finding a gun that’s reliable with it. After a number of Colts, I found that any SIG will feed all Super ammo.

My Academy, yes, had several boxes of hunting rifle rounds. Oddly though, a few boxes of .22 Short, and a pile of .22 WMR, 30+ boxes lol.

He had quite a few brands. When he did not have Federal, I chose PMC. It is fine ammo.

They are fine rounds, but the ones I got in PMC boxes were made by it’s parent company’s military ammo plant and are stamped PSD. I got one with the nose of the bullet pushed over, so it’s worth a look.

At those prices no wonder they have ammo.

If you think that is high, then I am guessing you have not bought ammo this year. That is half what you are being charged in store in Seattle, if you can find it. That is also some of the least expensive online.

This is Americans arming themselves against the tyranny, oppression and violence to come.

I agree.

However, the toilet paper shortage and ammo shortage are caused by the same thing in economic terms. When demand far exceeds supply, a shortage occurs and prices increase. The converse is also true. When supply far exceeds demand, a surplus occurs and prices decrease. This is the law of supply and demand.

Given time, the ammo manufactures will increase supply to meet demand and in time demand will level out. Free market capitalism - it's a beautiful thing!

You are missing the whole point. If those representing the Biden thuggery steal the election they are not going to constrain the making of toilet paper.

If the election is stolen and our president is no longer in office, the ammo and weaponry and means of self-defense will no longer be manufactured; no more will the shelves fill themselves with shell-boxes. The firearms for sale will be few, and many, many others will be taken by force.

Ask an Austrailian, or a Brit, or a Canadian for that matter. You might want to buy some extra toilet paper after hearing what he says.

I understand and agree with your concern about liberals.

However, the point I made about supply and demand is an explanation of the present and not about what a Biden administration would do. Presently, we have a pro-2A President and Senate. Presently, manufacturers of guns and ammo are not being constrained by draconian laws - except in certain states like CA and MA.

Guns and ammo supplies will catch up with the demand under current government laws and regulations.

To your point: if the libs get control of the White House and/or Senate and/or SCOTUS - everything will be liable to change - for the worse.
