All the big names are Out of Stock for 38spl 9mm and 357
Any input on those that indicate "Back order OK" as to aprox wait time would be appreciated.
Curious too, has demand slammed out put this much to cause this. If so I suppose its a good thing. If so maybe they should limit quantity on each purch to allow all of us to properly stock up
Most places are limiting quantities purchased.

Yes, even considering purchase limits and higher prices.
The root cause seems to be shortage of primers, so self/re -loaders arent immune.
My local gun store only has Ammo made in Serbia. The brand name is PPU. That is all he can get. Plus there is a limit of 2 boxes.
Rural King had Winchester Ammo, but they are sold out. Cabela’s claims they are re-stocking every week, but the inventory sells out within hours.
Let them do something really stupid.
We need to take this country back.
Lead and brass are precious metals.
This is why I have presses and dyes for every caliber gun that I own, along with molds for making my own bullets and shot. Not to mention brass, primers, powder and a few hundred pounds of lead.
This works better for some calibers than others. 223 shoots at too high a velocity with a full charge to use homemade unjacketed bullets without screwing up your barrel. But 7.62x39 can use unjacketed homemade bullets with a full charge if you heat treat them which requires no special equipment other than an oven and a pan.
...true....when I went there, late afternoon, there were signs limiting the amount of ammo that could be purchased at any one time....I did find some ammo on-line (9MM Luger) that I was able to buy... a bit pricey, but....hey...at least I have several hundred rounds of the stuff...!! “Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...!”

9mm and 357 Magnum. No 38 Special.
In my experience, this is a solid vendor. Always fast and free shipping.
I just got back from getting some prescriptions filled. I stopped at the only gun store around. He had plenty of ammo and at good prices.
I got 5 boxes of PMC .223 brass case, 55gr. fmjbt for $54 including tax.
I almost ordered two boxes last night from Cheaper Than Dirt, but after shipping it was just about what I paid for 5 boxes locally.
I take my wife. I get my limit and I get her to buy another limit...I’m sure nobody’s ever thought of that. Lol
I have just shy of 4000 rounds split between 9mm and 45. Of that, I have 1000 rounds each of Federal HST +P for both the 9 and 45, with the balance being FMJ for range work. Currently going thru about 50 rounds of each FMJ each week at the range, but that will most likely go up soon because I am waiting to receive a new Ruger PC Charger. I buy my ammo 1000 rounds at a time from Bulkmunitions.com, and grab it as soon as it appears.
Luckeygunner.com has 9mm for sure. I have dealt with them with zero issues.
Well said. Molon labe.
Shelves have been pretty bare for most ammo and all the decent firearms for a while where I am. If you go to the same small shop all the time and have a good relationship with the owner or one of the employees, they’ll put some aside for you. That’s one of the benefits of shopping at a local business rather than just going for the cheapest price all the time.
LOL! Yup. And rip van biden is still pushing taking folks guns away. 3+ million background checks/month! Back to sleep joe. And take beat-OH with you.
It is always a bad idea to wait for a storm to buy a pump or a snow shovel.
Best advice on the thread. Have what you need before the storm. Have extra. Never pay storm prices and don’t be worried.
“It is always a bad idea to wait for a storm to buy a pump or a snow shovel.”
Agreed. But it seems to be the norm. I’ve been well stocked for quite awhile. Also, people can load their own ammo. A skill I learned as a boy.
Stories like this are fun to read when one has been lacking sufficient ammo storage space since before the first Obama inauguration while also having comfortable levels of toilet paper and coins.
I read yesterday that industry experts predict, that even with a Trump win in November, the ammo supply isn’t likely to recover for at least 24 months. Locally ammo is being limited to 100 rounds per caliber per day. Our local big spring good store is still getting regular shipments of high demand calibers, but it seems out quickly. You have to be willing to check for and daily (sometimes multiple times per day). .223/5.56 is going for .45-.50 cents per round. 9mm is going for .40 cents per round. I’m glad I have six rifles in 6.5 Grendel... apparently nobody else around here likes it since there is plenty on the shelf.
