All the big names are Out of Stock for 38spl 9mm and 357
Any input on those that indicate "Back order OK" as to aprox wait time would be appreciated.
Curious too, has demand slammed out put this much to cause this. If so I suppose its a good thing. If so maybe they should limit quantity on each purch to allow all of us to properly stock up
I’ve found ammo outside of the big box stores in the rural areas. Pay a little more but its also a small business you are supporting.
It is always a bad idea to wait for a storm to buy a pump or a snow shovel.
Same in my area for months. Took in one of our gun shows a couple weeks back and found more than what I needed. But ideas about out in the rural areas is a sound one too.
We have been limiting to two boxes per customer since the run began, shelves still stripped bare.
Every time we get a case we are holding it behind the gun counter so we have some to sell with a gun purchase.
If we get more and we put it out, it’s gone in minutes.
Are you close to an Acadamy sports? Mines getting several shipments a week.
Also your gonna get suggestions about online suppliers.
Yes, there is an extraordinary demand on ammo and supplies are limited. Like the shortage we "had" on toilet paper, supply will eventually catch up with demand. How long that will take is another story.
All I found for .357 Magnum was this one:
Cheaper Than Dirt seemed to be stocked with those calibers.
Millions of new gun purchasers and social fears sacked ammo supplies.
America is armed to the teeth, and getting madder everyday.. The commie democrats better put down the crack pipe long enough to take a serious look around before they do something really stupid..
It is the greatest run on guns, ever, in history. Production of small arms by the entire world, in preparation for and during WWI or WWII was smaller. I doubt production of small arms in WWII (more than WWI) ever his this level.
About 12 million guns sold in the first half of the year.
We will see over 20 million for the year.
About 2/3 are pistols, with more than half the rest being semi-automatic rifles, by my estimates.
Yep, or toilet paper milk and eggs before a hurricane or Kung Flu
Dunham Sports has ammo. I had considered buying my wife a Sig p238 last summer. I checked today to find prices, if you can find one, up 20%.
...live quite close to an Academy Sports store here in the central Texas area....shelves have been stripped bare of all of the most popular ammo calibers, and have been bare for quite some time...also, no accessories - range bags, for example... very few handguns on display, too...”those in the know...” must know something the rest of us don’t...!!
Ammunition has become like toilet paper and Clorox wipes.
The professional race baiters have moved to Louisville.
The police are retiring/resigning en mass.
Violent crime is going up in the area.
The local paper runs stories on the increase of gun violence, evidently completely unaware of the demographics behind it.
No, Academy Sports doesnt have any 9x19.
Ammo is like other precious metals. Should have bought it a long ago.
I had to ask about shipments at Acadamy. You have to be there morning of at opening but it’s available in limited supply.
