(1) they want to be in the cool crowd. It’s a badge of honor.
(2) they are being paid ($oro$) to get tested with a bonus for each positive.
(3) See #2 above. They keep going back to get tested...as long as they are being paid.

Thanks, Steven W; the medical people understood me perfectly. I suppose I expected more understanding of my posting here: I had a fever of unknown origin but had no causative symptoms. The ER understood immediately, but did not proceed with sepsis in mind but instead headed towards eliminating a diagnosis of coronavirus infection.

Everything worked out, and I had complete confidence in the medical staff. I even asked the hospitalist / infectious disease specialist if he prescribed HCQ for CoViD-19 and he said 'Yes'.

My point regarding 'asymptomatic' was that he had a fever, which is a symptom. Therefore he was not asymptomatic.
