In my case I had little choice; I was tested twice this summer. First time I went to the ER with a fever of unknown origin (FUO), I was asymptomatic. I told them I didn't have coronavirus but two days in quarantine anyway, then two days on a regular med ward on antibiotic IV drip.
Second time I was scheduled for a somewhat minor surgery; had to get a nasal swab two days in advance.
I agree that I had no intention of volunteering to take the test. I take all the precautions. This whole thing is mostly a scam! Yes, there is a pandemic and people are getting sick and people are dying - just like the seasonal flu. I wrote the Prez early on and told him he had been duped about total lockdown. That sooner or later we would have to face herd immunity.
That is what we are doing now: undergoing herd immunity. Hopefully by November the numbers will be inconsequential... if the reporting is honest. Already the enemy is hollering about new threats that could kill just about everyone; we have to lockdown until Orange Man gone. 😠
Not arguing with your point, just tolerating the consequences. :)
I’ve always told people the virus is real, the numbers are fake. Here we know ... really, really fake.

Bit of a disconnect there, Bob.
And, I would expect a hospital to test for it prior to surgery.
That’s just good medicine.
I’m not debating your your points, just pointing out the inconsistencies.
You keep saying that word.
I don't think it means what you think it means.
