"“A lot of people have access to the White House that will NOT have access to him at Bedminster.”

Here is another reason Trump may be secluding.

South China Sea: Beijing mobilises invasion craft along coast as Taiwan tensions escalate

As tensions between Taiwan and China continue to escalate, satellite images reportedly show amphibious armoured vehicles and mobile missile launchers massing at military bases near the island nation. Though Taiwan, a country of 25 million people, is happy as an independent democracy, Beijing insists it is a "breakaway province" and "inviolate" Chinese territory, repeatedly stating it will use force to bring the island back under China's control. Now the images have shown the People's Liberation Army (PLA) moving the military vehicles into the Eastern Theatre Command on China's coastal cities across the strait from Taiwan, with missile launchers well within range to hit any targets in Taiwan. "We make no promise to abandon the use of force, and retain the option of taking all necessary measures," Chinese leader Xi Jinping said in a recent speech.

I believe that if confronted in the South China Sea by the USA, China will back down.

America tends to be straightforward in strategy: If threatened stand tall; if attacked hit back.

The Chinese prefer that Sun Tzu sh*t, always preferring to win by spying, lying, misdirection and betrayal ... so that the enemy eventually defeats themselves or at least moves into a horribly weakened position where they can be easily defeated. They revere the idea of the “Sage” getting close enough by subterfuge to stab their enemy in the back.

The Chinese should not be confused with the Japanese, a warrior people.

U.S.-Taiwan Mutual Defense Treaty Essay. The United States and the Republic of China (Taiwan) signed a mutual defense treaty in 1954 in which the United States would provide protection for the ROC in case of invasion by the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

Sounds pretty specific.
