President Trump's allies in the Senate are set to resume a public investigation on Wednesday that aims to tie former Vice President Joe Biden with what Republicans call abuses of power.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., wants to question former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates about her actions and those of the Justice Department and FBI as President Barack Obama's era closed and Trump's began.
Yates headed the Justice Department for part of the time covered by the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election and was instrumental in a few of its key developments.

Yates was among the officials who signed applications for surveillance on Page and she likely can expect a similar line of questioning on Wednesday to that faced earlier by Rosenstein.
Another issue involves former national security adviser Michael Flynn, whom Trump, Graham and their allies have sought to rehabilitate even as his complicated legal case winds ever on in an appeals process.
Subsequent revelations about the handling of the Flynn matter have exposed a fissure between Yates' Justice Department and the FBI under then-Director James Comey and revealed connections to the Flynn story involving Obama and Biden.

Well guess the Libs have zero problems with President Trump using the full powers of the NSA, CIA and FBI to investigate Biden and everyone associated with him.
Yates and comey were the two being left behind when the crap left on Jan 20. This was an ahola move to insulate him from anything that went amiss. He could not write the memo to file and neither comey or Yates were going to put their head on the block. So IMO ohola told her to write it from her perspective to close off the potential it fell back on him. Fits his profile exactly to a tee. In a just world that pos would be rotting away in some dungeon. When he gets his dismissal or pardon I hope Flynn finds some way yo get within garrot range of that snake.
Kansas is sending another uni-party Senator to congress. F the ReJerkOff Parody.

As soon as I saw this, I knew this will go nowhere. Grahamnesty is all talk and no action.
The Congress is not an appropriate venue for these investigations.
They accomplish nothing AND compromise potential prosecutions.
Well, first of all - no, of course they won't.
But more importantly, what would it matter if they did? The Congress is not a law enforcement body. They can't convene grand juries, they can't issue indictments, they can't arrest, try, or punish anyone.
AND, all of the consequences in terms of justice being done that can come out of their stupid "hearings" are bad. They can tip off potential defendants to prosecution strategy. They can disclose information making it inadmissible in a real court. And, by making people sick of their constant preening and melange of confusing accusations, they open the door to the Hillary Clinton "old news/move on" defense.
Most of the time, I actually think the PURPOSE of these meaningless Congressional non-investigations are to do just that.
I just tuned in on C-SPAN.
You should know by now that none of those agencies would obey orders from Trump to do any such thing.
And if a Senate Republican chairman was all about action - what "action" does the Constitution permit a Congressman or Senator to take in pursuit of criminals?
None, is the answer.

On the contrary. Public support on President Trump’s flanks from his own party builds political capital and sends a very clear message to executive branch bureaucrats that Resistance (TM) will not be tolerated.
These lawyers/politicians love to run these useless investigations.

Perhaps theres a problem with transmission, then, because resistance has been very well tolerated up until now.
Continuing on from their horrible treatment of AG Barr last week, today the Dims strategy is to scold Graham for interrupting the witness.
“LET HER FINISH!”
“YOU’RE INTERRUPTING HER BECAUSE SHE’S FEMALE!”
So will the GOP fight back and say, “Reclaiming my time!!”
I doubt it.
what does that say when the same agencies followed Obama’s orders....
It says that Donald Trump has not taken control of his government.
I think it says the vast majority of government workers are Libs 1st and Americans 2nd.
“And if a Senate Republican chairman was all about action - what “action” does the Constitution permit a Congressman or Senator to take in pursuit of criminals? None, is the answer.”
I don’t believe I stated that Congress was part of the executive branch.
Congress can hold legislative investigations, with witnesses under oath on penalty of perjury, to produce testimony. When the Justice Department refuses to investigate, or covers up, or ignores, at least a congressional investigation can subpoena documents and adduce evidence by testimony to get evidence out into the public domain.
Grahamnesty is unlikely to do this to any effective extent however.
