MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) Well-known acrobat and aerial performer Sam Panda was asked to leave the beach for violating the thong ordinance, and a video of her being handcuffed by police has gone viral.
Both Horry County and Myrtle Beach governments prohibit thong bathing suits under an ordinance about indecent exposure on the beach. This law has been in place for years and officers typically give a warning for the first offense.
Sam Panda, originally from Pittsburgh, is well known for miraculously surviving a fall in Bali during a performance when she broke her neck in several places and damaged her spine. The fall was filmed and Panda went viral by showing her strength and great attitude in a smiling photo from the hospital bed.
A recent video of Panda being handcuffed by a Myrtle Beach police officer and their lengthy discussion about her bathing suit was posted on her social media. She comments on the post, A woman called the cops on me because of my bikini. Thats how this all started. Some Karen decided that my body was offensive to her and showed her child that her body could one day lead to her arrest. Panda also used the hashtag #cancelMyrtleBeach in her post.
After the ordinance was shown to Panda, she came into compliance and was permitted to leave the beach without further incident.
Myrtle Beach police said officers were initially called for a report of two women who were wearing thong bikinis and a see-through top, who were dancing and soliciting videos on the beach.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the women to advise them of the ordinance related to nudity. One of the women attempted to walk away from officers and was detained, the department reported.
We all have “good friends” who feel this way.
She needs to cover up. The tattoos make her look repulsive.
Should have removed the thong, put it on her face and said she was merely complying with Dr. Tony.
Tats are attractive on...absolutely no one. I have seen more beautiful women despoiled by repulsive tats.
Men? Who cares?
NO FAIR fuzzing out the rear view! Just sayin.
Cops have GOT to be thinkin...”She is so hot”. “Beats 99% of the normal perps”.
Sure.... ; )
Agree
Oh, get a grip, Ms. Panda. Your comments make a stupid situation epically stupider.
People have young kids on the beach and I dont think kids need to be exposed to this CRAP!! For crying out loud is is that important for these women to have their butts completely exposed and YES the tats are disgusting!!
What the hell is up with young women today, I just hate tats on women my goodness they are going to be grandmas one day and those tats will be sagging everywhere!! They are so unattractive on women!,,
Only here to read the article.

After looking at the pic in post 12....
Me too.
How does one get a job at the thong ordinance department I want one,FBI aka Female Body Inspector.
I like small thongs and I can not lie
You other brothers can’t deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty thong
And a round thing in your face
You just gotta know it’s wrong.....
SC’s public indecency is very vague.
A good lawyer will get the charge tossed, but she was still hassled.
We spent 6 weeks in the FL panhandle in the beginning of the summer.
I was surprised just how prevalent thongs were, and I grew up near Miami.
What surprised me more was how many young teen girls were wearing them. I have a 12 year old girl and I cant imagine allowing that any time soon.
On another note, both my daughter and wife chastised me bar for using the word thong. They said it dated me to the 80s. I forgot their new word because I dont care.
If you need a friggin’ manual to go to the beach...
You live in a Nation with FAR too many laws.
I find them to be useful warning labels:
"STDs available here! All varieties, low prices! Ask about our two-for-one specials!" :)
Yuck! Covered in Tatts. Guilty!
