Something new to share with my FRiends. We have had a cottage on Lake Erie for the last 23 years....an unusual circumstance, but it has been leased to us by U.S. Steel. It’s over 100 years old (and it’s showing its age lately) and I was reluctant to put any more money into it because they may have been going to sell the land.
Well, yesterday the agent came out to see me and the other person who leases their other cottage in our nest of cottages. They are offering the land for sale to us first, and at a reasonable price, as we have kept up the cottages for so long. The cottage is a tear-down, so it means putting up a home at the lake and moving there permanently.
Quite a big move at this point, as I was expecting to stay in this house. It is beautiful out there - right across the lake from Erie, PA (just outside Port Dover). On a clear day, I can even see you guys!
Anyway, that’s my news. Onward and upward! Oh, and my son lives about 15 minutes north west of the cottage, and my daughter about 15 minutes north east, so that would be better for everyone as well!

That’s neat that you have the option. Your cottage sounds enchanting. There’s just some words that make a dwelling sound so much better, cottage, cabin, I know there’s more but I need more coffee.
I’ve always enjoyed your stories about going there. Have you figured out what to do with the friends with the ill-behaved dog?
