Losing animals we love is hard.
When I turned 55, I divested ownership of my 5 horses. Gave my grand daughter her pick, gave my niece the stallion, and sold the others. That was easier than losing them to illness or accident.
That was the age I had promised hubby that I would quit riding. I had osteopenia and hubby didn’t like to ride anyway.
