AMERICA invented rock and roll, then there was the British invasion, but what about Oz?
Any mention of George Young and the Easybeats. Young is the older brother of Malcom and Angus Young of AC/DC. He also had the band Flash and the Pan. He produced most of AC/DCs early albums.
How many times have we heard this song and had no idea it was a Young Brother

Every song in David Johansen’s audition for the Dolls was an Archie Bell song. And it took 45 years for them to meet.
Thank yew 😊
Actually I hadn’t seen that one.
THIS was the one I’ve seen 1 hour documentary on the Saints.

Beer is somewhat regional in Australia. from wiki
Beers by region
Before federation in 1901, Australia was a patchwork of separate colonies, each with different laws regulating the production and sale of alcohol. In addition, until the late 1880s when the rail network began to link the capital cities together, the only means of transporting foods in bulk between the colonies was by sea. This prevented even the largest breweries from distributing significant amounts outside their home city. This allowed strong regional brands to emerge; and, although all but one of the major regional brands (Coopers) are now owned by multinational companies, loyalty to the local brewery remains strong today.
New South Wales: Tooheys, Reschs and Tooths
Northern Territory: NT Draught
Queensland: Castlemaine XXXX and Powers
South Australia: Coopers, West End and Southwark
Tasmania: Boags in the north, Cascade in the south
Victoria: Carlton Draught, Foster’s Lager, Victoria Bitter and Melbourne Bitter
Western Australia: Swan, Emu and Kalgoorlie
While Foster’s Group owns many of these brands, Foster’s Lager itself is not considered a local drink anywhere in Australia.[15]
I had no idea.
Fosters is for the tourists
Never forget being in LA in the 80s and Fosters had a big ad blitz with lots of Aussie images on billboards and Imported prominently displayed. So I’m checking out a can of it while there and discretely printed on it it says brewed in Canada. :)
While she grew up in Australia and is mostly associated with it Olivia was born in Cambridge England. Mel Gibson similarly was born in the US.

Little hazy on the details (hey, it was the late 70s) - 1st time I’d seen AC/DC they opened for a Ted Nugent concert, and it was like “WOW!”...
Haven’t heard that name in a while. :-) Good band
