White House coronavirus task force member and diehard baseball fan Dr. Anthony Fauci threw the first pitch at the long-awaited 2020 MLB season opener — as the New York Yankees took on the World Series champion Nationals.
But Fauci, 79, should have stuck to infectious diseases — as he fumbled the ball straight into the ground.
Wearing a Nationals jersey and a red face mask, the 5-foot 7-inch righty bounced the ball on the grass, crossing the first base line, far wide of home plate.

But on the other hand, in his chagrin, he will likely force everyone into masks and businesses closed for an extra year.
I wonder if he practiced with even one pitch. I would take a few pitches to get calibrated and then often could throw over the plate, maybe a bit high or low. But not as a fastball.
You know, I never thought I’d see anything in my life again quite like the Michael Dukakis in a tank photo.

I wonder if Trump ever said, “give it to me straight doc”...it would explain a lot.
