Our black face sporting Governor instituted his imperial mask mandate the Tuesday following Memorial Day. Have never worn a mask in public and have never had a problem but I'm in a very small minority. Today at Walmart I was the only person in the store not wearing a mask. That depresses me that so many people are willing to just obey...no matter what...just obey.
I understand. It depresses me too. I was hoping there would be enough objections that Walmart would have to backtrack like several other stores did. sigh.
I’m disgusted with the Walmart policy as well. I thought backlash would force them to back off. It disgusts me that more are not speaking out to WM. I sent my opinion locally and to corporate.
We typically only go shopping at large stores every 2-3 months. We pick up perishables at a small local store as needed but their prices are higher. I’ve only needed to go once since mask mandate, hubby has been in twice, I think. No one approached about a mask.
I am currently in the midst of a semi-annual inventory of food stores so I can shop next week. I typically do this inventory 2 or 3 weeks before Thanksgiving but have moved it up due to the china flood and all other news. Just smart to always be prepared and stay prepared. I over-stocked the first week of March and it’s not time yet - normally. But these are not normal times. I need an enlargement to my storage spaces.
and, we will do all the purchasing we can from the smaller local store, like y’all did Greeneyes. Thankfully we are able to spend a bit more to support the local store and their sensible mask policy. Hubby called the locker plant to pick up meat from them which means I’ll be firing up my canner in the heat of summer instead of cool of autumn. But we decided last night that we need to bite the bullet on that too. Maybe get a jump on china driving meat prices higher.

Though not the same by a long shot, this may give a minute...a very small indication of what our founding fathers came up against.
Do we have what it takes to go against the status quo? To win the battle for freedom? Win against everything that many people must believe. Not what they do believe; what they have been taught to believe....the authority of the crown still exists.
