I just don’t get the appeal. She just epitomizes the cynical, manufactured corporate music industry to me. I have no interest in pablum.

Sorta beat me to it. I’ve always hated that term ‘music industry’.

Two things I noticed about her:

I think the arrangements are absolutely amazing.
Whenever one of her songs comes on, I can tell it’s her because the singer sounds pedestrian. i.e. nothing special in her voice. No “hooks” that I hear. She’s just a girl with a fairly good singing voice, enhanced by autotune, but has some good business sense and, however she does it, comes up with some really good song arrangements.

But when she went political I was done. I deleted my TS channel on Pandora and every time one of her songs comes up on any streaming source I hit the dislike button.

I can live without TS.
