Oh man, and did they ever! See my post no:26.
Combining your posted quotation with the first PPFA "Maggie"award....
"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."
- Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, December 10, 1939 (Smith College, Sanger Collection)
First to receive their highest honor, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Margaret Sanger Award, is presented annually to recognize leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement.
1966 The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. sparked the conscience of the nation as he courageously and selflessly gave direction to the early civil rights movement in the United States. Resisting bigotry, inspiring women and men worldwide, and advancing social justice and human dignity, he also lent his eloquent voice to the cause of worldwide voluntary family planning. Both he and Margaret Sanger challenged unjust laws, cruel social customs, and blind prejudice that still hold people in ignorance, poverty, and despair.
Mrs. Coretta Scott King delivered her husbands acceptance speech on his behalf, saying, There is a striking kinship between our movement and Margaret Sangers early efforts.

I wonder if, in 1966, MLK and his wife could envision that 'birth control' would become abortion - or if they were even aware of Sanger's real ideological motives.
From your link to the planned parenthood website:

Our sure beginning in the struggle for equality by non-violent direct action may not have been so resolute without the tradition established by Margaret Sanger and people like her."

It looks like the planned parenthood web site is about to be subject to some serious “editing”. ;-)

mmmm....given the documented, umm , dalliances, there’s a strong possibilty he availed himself of such services to preserve his public persona.

Well, he was certainly a man of personal failings.
But I doubt he would have knowingly aligned himself with an ideology promoting the wholesale genocide of generations of unborn Black children.
