The GOP Senate Is Asleep at the Wheel

Is the Republican Senate Alive?

Republicans in the Senate have precious little time to show the American people that they’re actually still alive; still a party that pays attention; that they look up occasionally and remember who sent them to Washington, and who pays their salaries.

At a time when conservative and Republican voters across the country are looking to their institutions to lead, Republicans in the Senate could step up and actually decide to run the place.

All of them—every single Republican senator from Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on down—has the power to force votes to defend the police, diminish China’s influence, take a stand for people of faith, enforce consequences against Planned Parenthood’s likely criminality, or push back against the corporate takeover of speech, privacy, market access, and independent thought.

Yes, it will be hard. Senate Democrats will probably say mean things. They will, as Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) did when Mike Lee (R-Utah) stood up to condemn mob violence, use the procedures of the Senate to try to cancel Republican speech.

Great. Perfect. What voters desperately want to see—what they need to see—is Republicans unbowed in the face of woke assaults and progressive tantrums. Many times in politics the outcome isn’t the thing—the very act of trying, of digging in your heels and drawing a line in the sand, is enough. As Ben Domenech put it recently, “The thirst among Republican voters isn’t even for policy. It’s for seeing the politicians they elected join the fray.”

That’s probably a Good Thing.

There are only ~5 of them of any use.

We could wish they were Asleep at the Wheel. Might at least hear some good music then.

And this article exactly lays out my beef. They are already begging for money and begging for votes because the “can’t lose the majority”, and want to gain the majority in the House?

Why!

So they can get cushier offices and more staff and then continue to thumb their noses at those who put them in office to fight on their behalf? Really, it’s hard for me to tell who is more loathsome, the evil inspired Democrats, or the cowardly Republicans who REFUSE to do anything.

They want Trump gone as much as the Democrats do.
Turning the USA into North Mexico has been their life’s work.

I just don’t think they care or they don’t have the will to fight the good fight. They certainly lack standing up for what the voters elected them to do.

We had all three branches of government at one time and because of Ryan and McStain, it was squandered. Such waisted opportunity. The only good thing being done is judges.

They want Trump gone as much as the Democrats do.

Ain't that the depressing truth.

Won’t be a problem come January 2021, Trump or no Trump.

January 2021, the death of the Republic.

At best POTUS Trump will be the proverbial Dutch Boy with his finger in the Dike (or Dyke if you live in West Hollywood).

Mitch is too busy setting up dinner dates with Chucky Schumer to care about the little people who elected him to office.

The words of Susan Collins tell you everything you need to know about the GOP’s priorities.

“I do not campaign against my colleagues in the Senate,” Collins told the Times.

They are like an abused spouse who weathers the contempt and beatings, in the hopes that they will still be going to dinner at the hottest D.C. restaurant. America is burning, but all they care about is not offending their “colleagues” in the world’s most exclusive club.

“ Turning the USA into North Mexico has been their life’s work.”

Turning the USA into a nation that is the captive of the political/government elite has been, and continues to be, their life’s work.

1) they are terrified that their enemies will call them a name that they will call them anyway.
2) they hate their voters for being (mostly) white, Christian, and heterosexual.
3) if they speak up on behalf of the people who elected them, their wives might get ugly looks dropping off the kids at school.
4) their donors don’t want them to do anything other than what they are doing right now.
5) they are the last bastion of people who watch and believe everything from CNN.

We don’t ever get what we voted for. Only the President even tries, and it’s him against the world with little to zero help.

We need to put the fear of God in them.
A big armed march on DC should be in the works but, it’s not.

Mitch McConnell is not doing anything to keep the Senate. He said before the 2018 Midterms that they would lose seats. He didn’t say any anything about the rioters.

There is no more dropping kids off at school. Look around.

There is no more school. It has been abolished. It happened last week. Check districts nationwide. Check colleges. Education is effectively over in the United States.

Asleep at the Wheel?

They are more like drunks who fall asleep in the bar, face down in the nacho plate special.

‘Republicans’ are so pathetic. I always say any Conservative who wants the WH needs to defeat his opponent, defeat the media and DEFEAT THE GOP!

And that is pathetic. It also says a great deal about President Trump and his success. I am certain his re election will be a landslide!
