Hubby said he had seen some in his various trips to the woods over the years, but can’t remember where. We have 20 acres north of town, but no paw paws.
I was going to order some several years ago, but couldn’t get him to agree to plant them-they were in a native plant catalog and not very expensive. I didn’t push it because I didn’t know if I’d like them-banana is my least favorite fruit.
You might want to stay away. But I don't think I'd have thought to assign banana flavor to them. They do have a creamyish flavor. And I like them but more as a variety thing. I've noted you saying you aren't fond of many fruits so it might not be worthwhile. I have considered trying to start some in a shady creekbed on our property. If I do I'll either start from seed or just go dig up seedlings. I think our soil is too alkaline which is usually what divides East Texas flora from the rest of us.
