Sorry Easy. The researchers publishing this article
Virol J. 2005; 2: 69.
Published online 2005 Aug 22. doi: 10.1186/1743-422X-2-69
PMCID: PMC1232869
PMID: 16115318
Chloroquine is a potent inhibitor of SARS coronavirus infection and spread
Martin J Vincent,1 Eric Bergeron,2 Suzanne Benjannet,2 Bobbie R Erickson,1 Pierre E Rollin,1 Thomas G Ksiazek,1 Nabil G Seidah,2 and Stuart T Nicholcorresponding author1

were from the CDC and an outfit in Montreal. Fauci did not necessarily know about the publication in 2005. The link https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1232869/
is to PubMed out of the Natl Library of Medicine. It physically sits on the NIH campus, but that’s about it. Publications pertaining to infectious disease could possibly be forwarded as a courtesy to the head of the NIAID, but that’s about it, my guess. At some point, some researcher or colleague or lawyer probably provided Fauci with the publication title or the publication per se (when?), but that is not a given.

Thanks, I replied the correction at those tweets in the thread.

You agree he knew by 2013, though?

we beat this subject up pretty good back in March.
Seems Fauci should have known about the 2005 study. I always wondered why Dr. Fauci didn't know.

291 articles cited that article and each of those articles were cited by other articles...I only checked the 291 articles and a couple of the articles citing those articles and it seems strange not one mention of Fauci as a contributor\commenter in any of them one way or the other ?

Here's Fauci's take in 2013 on existing drugs to use for new viruses.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/04/18/scientists-develop-possible-treatment-for-new-sars-like-virus/2091443/

"That's particularly encouraging, because these drugs, now used to treat hepatitis C, are widely available, says Anthony Fauci, director of the infectious-disease institute, which financed the research. "We don't have to start designing new drugs," a process that takes years, Fauci says. "The next time someone comes into an emergency room in Qatar or Saudi Arabia, you would have drugs that are readily available. And at least you would have some data."

Also, this 10 minute video from 2009 re: H1N1 is somewhat deadly to today's Fauci... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsXEgJqR_vY&feature=youtu.be
