Fauxi may not even know now, or admit to it. If he’s a good researcher, doing due diligence, he should have known of the HCQ data (esp from sister agency the CDC) when he was approving grant monies for flu viral research and therapies.
That kind of data is first paragraph material...
Viral influenza kills bla bla every year, hospitalizes bla bla, causes tremendous economic and societal hardship. Although treatments therapies have been suggested by in vitro (site Vincent study here) and in vivo models, randomized controlled clinical trials have not bore out approved therapies.
See how the Vincent data can be dismissed in a blip, or not acknowledged at all? Then reviewers may, or may not, want to include it for further dicussion, depending on their knowledge and *ahem* biases.
