After watching it again, I think the cop should never have let the guy get that close.
Oh, this is from yesterday. I thought maybe it happened two days in a row. a 77 y/o getting stabbed.
You’re right though, the officer almost waited too late.
This guy obviously did not care if she shot him.
Funny thing is, he had no record of acting this way before.

Yes, like that thug in Detroit who pulled out a gun, attempted to shoot a cop, and was killed. They had protests over that, and, of course, the thug’s brother was on hand to say the cops were wrong. I suppose the cop was just supposed to stand there and let this guy shoot him.
No doubt the city of Detroit will pay the family handsomely. The world has gone insane.

It only takes two fingers (max of 3) to hold/grip any size pistol or revolver.
No one told that perp to run up to the cop brandishing a knife and a screwdriver. She had every right to shoot him. He was a jerk, and proved it twice. First, stabbing a 77 y.o. man and then rushing the cop with weapons.
She did good. Handled the jam very well.
As soon as he got out of the car, she should have shot him.
Absolutely not. What’s the rule, someone with a knife within 20’ can take you?
What caliber was the cop using? 5 mm? In a close encounter like that, the caliber should be large enough that the first hit takes out even a drugged-up criminal.
