Last week, Paul Brodeur, mayor of Melrose, Mass., apologized for a supposedly offensive traffic safety message and launched an investigation into it. He made a federal case about a police billboard reading THE SAFETY OF ALL LIVES MATTER. This simple statement expressing the importance of safety for everyone is purportedly offensive or racist or something because many respond to the Black Lives Matter movement with signs reading All Lives Matter.
I have just been made aware that the following traffic sign is being displayed on Main Street, Brodeur tweeted with a picture of the sign. I have ordered that it be taken down immediately and am taking steps to find out how this happened. I apologize to the residents of Melrose.
The mayors tweet went viral as conservatives drew attention to the idea that the message all lives matter, even in a clearly apolitical context, is considered too offensive.
So all lives *dont* matter, Mr. Mayor? Mark Dice tweeted.
Brodeur was right to think some citizens of Melrose would find the message offensive, however. At least two members of the City Council Maya Jamaleddine and Jack Eccles joined a small group of Black Lives Matter protesters at the location where the sign once stood, Patch reported.
Police Chief Mike Lyle insisted that the officer who wrote all lives matter did not do so with malicious or political intent. He launched an investigation into the improper and unfortunate sign.

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER. VOTE AGAINST EVERY DEMOCRAT ON THE BALLOT.
In my state they had those signs blasting out coronavirus will kill you messages all the time for several months now, and not just on one slide if you will but it took several to complete the message.
Well, in the article it says that several city Council critter members have a small protest of sorts where the sign used to be. So they remove the sign like you wanted but yet you still feel the need to protest where the sign was. Got it.
For the first time in my life, I will vote a straight Republican ticket. Just to send a message. I suspect there will be many more like me.
Everyone is offended at everything.
They are not offended. They are just whiny crybabies who are CLAIMING they are offended to control others.
People need to stop backing down when someone whines about being offended.
Suck it up, buttercup.
Get over it.
Life is not guaranteed to be offense free and you just need to learn to deal with seeing, hearing, and experiencing things you don’t like or want to hear.
White live have apparently mattered too much up until now, so going forward they have to matter less so black lives can matter more. Mattering seems to be a zero-sum concept to the Left - just like wealth.
Yet another example of criminal government by a mayor.

Well, I recently created new memes appropos this thread (however, the second one is still a working DRAFT):
...and...SO -- BLM was "OFFENDED"...
TXnMA
It would only be considered a racist message by an Actual RACIST!!!
Massachusetts and much of America is full of liberal idiots. BLM crap is 100% racist. In the eyes of Christ all lives matter.
Hey BLM folks - VETERAN LIVES MATTER! ...and what do you OWE THEM?!?!
I’d love for this to be the standard question as a response to ‘do BLM?’. When you get the response, “I don’t owe them sh*t”, the conversation is over. You lose. I’m done listening to a bunch of overly sensitive morons that believe they get to inherit the suffering of those that lived a long time ago, also believing I inherit the guilt of those that engaged in the practice - if they can’t acknowledge that many white people have fought for them.
If you can’t respect the lives of those that have defended your rights then it’s just an idiotic and juvenile argument.
Notice they have no reasonable demands? It HAS TO BE ‘burn down the system’ because they can’t articulate a specific problem. The term ‘systemic racism’ isn’t tangible. They’ll tell me that I can’t see it because I’m white. Isn’t that racist? It’s the ultimate ‘gotcha’ argument, it’s like a ghost only black people can see except I’m supposed to believe that you have to be black to be able to see it.
Sorry, as a white guy, if I were surrounded by racists I’d know it - they wouldn’t hide it from me if it were so common. The fact is, this is just an endless hissyfit that gets ever-more sensitive with each ‘win’. Anything with the word ‘black’ will be a problem.
Even if we allow this endless complaining, do they believe that capitulating to it all will end racism? Or is it more likely it’ll CAUSE MORE racism? People being called ‘racist’ and seeing endless violence against white people isn’t going to advance anything, only make things worse.
Damn white liberals. Damn the schools and universities. Damn the media. They have blood on their hands. They know exactly what they’re doing. At what point do we hold THEM accountable? And how? Apparently this ‘inciting violence’ won’t be prosecuted.
Quit apologizing damn it!!
Dear Mayor Paul Brodeur,
YOUR life matters not at all. Please take the necessary steps to become Black so that you, too, may matter. Or otherwise, Take a Hike!
Re: I will vote a straight Republican ticket.

Thumbs up!
It offended the grammar nazis too.
So Dr Martin Luther King, Jr made a statement which is now considered racist. Statues of him must therefore be vandalized, removed, and destroyed.
