If I cashing in all the coins in my coin jars, I could remedy this situation.

Yes, all the businesses that process coinage have been closed and other retailers encourage card use.
I just turned in over $160 in coins from our stash.

People are using plastic. Coins are not short, they are simply not circulating.
Since they are hardly worth anything...it doesnt really matter.

Yup. All the Walmarts in my area (Metro Albuquerque) are supposedly on a card only basis right now (Ive only confirmed it at the two nearest me). No cash. One of the Lowes is, too.
Pissed me off yesterday at the closest WM. Nothing posted anywhere until you actually get to the register to check out. I asked WTH was going on and the employee said it was national policy due to the coin shortage. I told him they needed to post it in big, bold letters on the door so people like me, who pay cash, dont spend all their time shopping only to be told card only.

I haven’t noticed in this area. I usually just dump my change in a bin and eventually use it because just too much accumulates.

Wide mentioned that the local Kroger has signs up about this for the past few days. I was surprised, but apparently true.

Nope. But just so you know, I’m hoarding quarters for the laundromat :-)

I was just thinking the same thing. I have many containers of coins. I keep meaning to sit down and sort through to see if I have anything of collectible value, but I really don't know what I'd be looking for. I should just get rid of them, but hate giving a percentage to a Coinstar.

It’s a lot easier to keep tabs on people who pay with a credit card.
