Interesting that Trump commuted Stone’s sentence but did not pardon him. This leaves in place the precedent for heavy sentences for lying, so when the real liars get sentence no one can whine about it.

If he can afford to, I think he can appeal and clear his name.
Stone was interviewed after his sentence was commuted. He said that Trump called him and asked him if he would like a commutation or a pardon. Stone said he would like a commutation, because he plans to appeal the verdict and have his name cleared.
Before Stone’s commutation, he appeared briefly on TV — Tucker’s show, I am pretty sure — and said that he hopes for a commutation so that he can still dispute the cas and clear his name.
