Yet another video of a store encounter featuring a maskless individual amid the novel coronavirus pandemic has gone viral. The latest one, apparently filmed more than one week ago at a Costco in Fort Myers, Florida, showed a man in a red “Running the World Since 1776” t-shirt screaming that he “felt threatened” as he approached the purported source of the threat.

The video was shared by film director Billy Corben and viewed more than five million times by people online.

I'm so old, I remember when conservatives used to be upset that the Supreme Court found "penumbras" emanating from the Constitution.

Unfortunately, adhering to pure conservatism in today’s world is a suicide pact. We have to adapt. What is the alternative.? The SJW mob video tapes us or screen shots our posts, Puts us on their social media, get us fired, And then we say “a private company can fire who they want” . Because we are good little conservatives. LOL. Nope. I’m done with that. If that makes me not a conservative I don’t give a rats ass. I’m a populist now I guess. Or maybe I’m just pro American.

Great. You’ve now admitted your idea sucks. Conversation over.

Nope. The idea is amazing and 100% pro American. The conversation is just beginning. You’re tired mantra of “a private company can do whatever it wants” Is un-American in the 21st-century in the age of social media.

“don’t even think of gaslighting me for calling out that masks are utter filth”

Next time you go in for surgery be sure to insist the doctor does not wear one. Thanks.

No. The idea is terrible and 100% ANTI American. You want to take freedom of association out of the 1st Amendment. That’s BAD. The conversation is over. Your idea stinks. You even admitted it. But you can’t give up on it. Luckily, as I said, your idea will never go anywhere. We’re done. Have a great evening.

“The Costco mask policy IS NOT A LAW!!”

You apparently don’t understand how this country works. I know this is incredibly complicated but please try to follow along how it works.
1) If you go into a store and violate their posted policy, then they can tell you to leave.
2)If you refuse to leave, then you are trespassing.

Yeah, breaking the law.

Need me to explain it again?

Of course it is about fear. It’s about the fear of being harassed by some Karen. For businesses it is fear of sanction by local or state governments. And for others it’s about irrational fear of an overblown hoax.

What’s the number of the Code or Bill passed by the governing body/bodies? You DO know how laws are made, right? Is it a state law? Is it a federal law?

It’s a policy some liberal Costco exec pulled out of his ass. And people must abide by the policy or leave.

If a mask is required to enter a business and you disagree, don’t go into that business. No shirt, no shoes, no service was the norm in my day.

We are in a new era where your life can be destroyed because you were having a bad day. Being a Hermit is becoming an viable option. LOL

Yes, he was a jerk but so were the couple who started their video. I’m sorry, I find this age of video and load every little thing to the internet bull. That’s just my opinion of it and many may disagree but that’s life.

Thanks for the link.

I wondered what the mechanism could be that made viruses less contagious in high humidity. Since viruses survive being in body fluids I had trouble seeing how humidity could hurt them. Instead, I imagined that the opposite might be true; that is, lack of a protective water bubble might expose them to ultraviolet light or some such thing.

The article claims that "sedimentation" is the mechanism that reduces contagion in high humidity. The effect is that viruses trapped in aerosol particles will fall to the ground in high humidity, but drier conditions allow the particles to reduce in size due to evaporation until they are small enough not to be affected by gravity.

Very interesting.

Please point to where I admitted my ideas stinks anywhere but in your own head. I know the idea scares you but don’t dismiss it. Anything can happen. I may not be anybody important but I’m sure as hell working on it. It just takes the will. And we Americans who are fed up with cancel culture and the weasel companies who enable it , can make this happen.

I don’t mind a differing opinion, hell, that;’s what makes this place fun. More than once I’ve changed my mind, or at least part of my argument when confronted with new facts or a better argument.

Indeed, the *only* absolute I have: the absolute right to change my mind when presented with new facts and/or a better argument.

But just posting one lame insult again and again? Hell I’ve been insulted by some absolute masters, like getting your ass kicked by Muhammad Ali or Bruce Lee, you just try to Learn.

Proverbs 27:10 “As steel sharpens steel, so one person sharpens another”.

I’m pro mask, I wear one because I am convinced by the evidence that *IF* I should be positive but non-symptomatic, *THEN* it would reduce the probability of transmitting it, thus reducing the chance a vulnerable person might be harmed by it.

To me, that’s an absolutely obvious and decent thing to do. I find it sad that somehow it became a political thing, with, in my opinion, we Constitution loving patriotic conservatives apparently regarding masks as some sign of submission, acquiescence to a police state, or condoning/participating in liberal virtue signaling, instead if wearing one being the decent, Christian thing to do

There’s more evidence that they prevent transmission than there is opposite it, at least in my findings. Somebody has an absolute right to a contrary opinion, but no right at all to ignore the rules a property owner stipulates regarding doing business with their establishment. If somebody isn’t going to patronize a place that requires masks, that’s their right, it’s mine to do the opposite. It’s no one’s right to get pissed or rude when asked -regardless of by who- to obey the rules; there’s no inherent right or requirement to go to Costco.

Common sense would lead me to believe that if someone’s cough or sneeze is held back by his/her mask, that is doing something to prevent the spread.

Whether or not the mask is protecting the wearer in an environment where others aren’t wearing them is a different story; most masks clearly indicate they WON’T protect you.

Do we know this is really an elderly woman? Are elderly women using apps like facial recognition on their phones? I’m assuming they are still using those Jitterbug flip phones you see on afternoon tv show commercials.

Jitterbug offers an Android smartphone. Maybe her adult son lives in her basement, and she handed it over to him.

Would it be the absolutely obvious decent thing to do to surrender our firearms after a mass shooting?

No, it would be to make sure that everyone was armed so as to stop the next mass shooter earlier.

Wearing a mask is about protecting others. You need a really carefully fitted mask for it to do any good at all in protecting you, but even a crappy one does *some* good if you sneeze, cough, or breathe hard.
