During a Texas Tech-Baylor game I covered, he had his backup QB, who had also played receiver in high school, change his jersey and line up at wide out, then throw a pass after a lateral. You're supposed to notify of a jersey number change, but he didn't. One of the linebackers took out the Baylor QB after he slid, knocking him out of the game. Pretty sure the LB was told to do that, cause it was a way late hit, but it was done before ejection for targeting was a rule.
Nobody at Tech was sorry to see him go.
