So what was going on with her ex that she was willing to betray her country over. I’m in no way condoning what she did, she’s a traitor for sure. But the question begs itself, why did she feel the need to go through such extreme measures. Either there was something really bad going on, or she’s just one of those batshit crazy women who will do anything to keep the kids from her ex. She’s 47 and her daughter is 6. Apparently she put her high-level, rather masculine career first in her life until getting pregnant or adopting at age 40. When a divorce took place not long after, my guess is that she had not put her stressful career to one side and her husband got custody in what was probably a brutal fight. After all, men can have children much more easily and much later in life than women can. Faced with the loss of custody of what is likely to be her only child, and probably menopausal, she jacked up a desperate plan.
