I have a prescription my doctor wrote to me 13 years ago.
I put it on the fridge.
It said Linda Lee needs a dog for health reasons.
Shortly after that we got our dog And he is going to be 12 next month.

Sweet! I would probably be crazy without my cat. The cat and xanax would be great but I never got a prescription for either.

I didn’t know I was a dog person before we got Cooper. And that I argued against getting a dog, I told my husband we were cat people. Dogs are needy, smelly, and you have to spend time with them. Cats aren’t any of those things.
He brought Cooper home anyway. I think it took me less than 24 hours to call him at work and tell him that Cooper was my dog, and he needed to find his own. I was missed when I went to the mailbox! I’ve never been so loved. Now I’m wondering why I have all these cats. Probably for balance. And to Humble me.
