When we put the Epsom salts under the rose bushes we use a long PVC pipe, Just pour down the pipe and you can stand and get it right to the roots.

Sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately our side yard had 4 huge hemlock trees. They cut them down but the roots are everywhere. Making it impossible to dig in many places. So I have planted all my flowers on top of the ground. I have placed pounds and pounds of dirt on the yard. It’s made for ideal draining but really cost doing it. Much easier for my old back.
