FAKE HISTORY: USA Today Pretends Democrats Didn’t Found the KKK, Start Civil War (They Did)

Apparently, if you don’t like certain facts, you can just declare them false. That seems to be the thinking behind a USA Today “fact check” pretending that Democrats didn’t start the Civil War and found the KKK. But, they did. In a June 30 assertion USA Today rated “false,” the paper began, “Claim: The Democratic Party started the Civil War to preserve slavery and later the KKK.”

The entire article essentially conceded that the Confederacy was run by Democrats, made up by Democrats, as was the KKK. But don’t blame the Democratic Party for that! USA Today writer Devon Link calls the claim “an oversimplified trope about the Democratic Party.”

The article is made up of “yes, but…” concessions. Link squirmed, “Historians agree that although factions of the Democratic Party did majorly contribute to the Civil War's start and KKK's founding, it is inaccurate to say the party is responsible for either.”

Oh, I think all democrats should pay. But I could see white democrats paying black democrats. That would be fun. I think the reparations should include the bad schools, insufficient policing, lack of jobs do to immigration. White democrats have lots to atone for.

The KKK democrat - - so was George Wallace (who stood in the schoolhouse to stop black children from entering, and Bull Conner (who set his dogs on MLK) and EVERY thug in the White Citizen's Council... They were ALL democrats.

And today?

Democrats still rule with intimidation. They burned Churches in the Jim Crow South. Democrats burn churches today. Democrats faked crimes against the powerless like Emmett Til and their boys in the press went along with it... just like today they fake crimes against Trump supporters.

The soul of the KKK is the same - democrat thugs are the same - their boys in the press that look away are still the same. The only change is choice of victim - once black - now traditional Americans.

The Democrats need to accept their history of embracing slavery — and rejecting equality for ALL Americans.

A good start would be if the Democrat party accepts its guilt and agrees to make “reparation” payments to any American who suffered as a result of their racism (KKK, Jim Crow, etc.).

I wonder...

Should just the “white” Democrats be forced to pay?

Note the argument veers toward a defense of the confederacy as they dance around the old “Civil War wasn’t about slavery” proposition.

Everyone has been taught that it was, but there are few voices out there to explain the accurate history. The Corwin amendment alone proves the war was not about slavery.

The war was about Washington DC controlling the economic output of the South. Washington DC intended that the South continue to have slavery when they launched the invasion.

Here's an excellent summary on the so-called "switch" - which never occurred:

In 1865, blacks voted Republican. The started moving to the Democrat party in the 1930s thanks to FDR. By the mid 60s, they were about half Republican half Democrat. By the mid 70s, the vast bulk had moved to the Democrat party.

The "Great Society" programs probably had a lot to do with it.

The South was Democrat up until Reagan, and then it transitioned from Democrat to Republican in the intervening 40 years.

Wow.

Orwell’s “1984,” turned into a documentary.

Up next, “Animal Farm.”

“We choose truth over facts.”

If the facts contradict the narrative, the facts lie.

Pointing out this little historical fact, therefore, is racist.

The KKK was explicitly anti-Republican at its founding.

And the KKK was a terrorist insurgency group that stepped in after the Civil War and lasted for nearly a century.

Imagine if we treated the US civil war the way we counted the duration of the Iraq War including time of reconstruction after toppling Saddam while we fought foreign national “insurgents”.
