There have to be a couple of suitcase nukes and/or dirty bombs just waiting for the go code.

I am not very worried about these weapons for several reasons.

1. They are highly technical. They are carefully machined to EXACT specifications. They degrade over time and require regular maintenance by highly skilled technicians. Chad & Karen can't just slap one together in their garage and expect it to work. Even if they managed to get the materials.

2. The fissile/ dirty bomb material is flat out deadly to the creator/user if not properly stored. This is not a trivial matter.

3. The fissile/ dirty bomb material can be be detected at a distance if not perfectly stored and much closer even if it is. I will not discuss the sensitivity of the detectors. Suffice it to say, they are damned sensitive.
