It's like the old saying:

If you're not a liberal and you're under 30, you don't have a heart. If you're still a liberal after the age of 30, you don't have a brain.

Responses should be appropriate, but not in surrender mode. Actions and words should be commensurate with what is done unto you. Age does not matter, especially when what one hears has been learned and come from the mouths of those that are guiding her.
