I was thinking about what @john the owner of Parler said about investment...
He does not believe he can get investment from Silicon Valley because he is in direct competition with them.
Apparently Dan Bongino has invested but that got me thinking...
Why doesn't he crowd fund the investment? Would you kick in for a piece of the pie?
Crowd funding is nothing new.
There are many companies/websites where you can setup projects to appeal for capital from smaller investors (like ourselves).
Do you think this would be a good idea? Anyone familiar with crowd funding and think it can be done? Or is it simply too ambitious?
I think this could be the only way of keeping it conservative and OUT of the hands of the liberal elite.
Here's what he said about investment:
"... But he recognizes that the political tone of his platform will probably make it hard for him to raise money from investors in Silicon Valley, which leans Democratic and is decidedly anti-Trump. Thus far, hes funded the company with angel money and said hell soon be looking to raise a first institutional round of financing.
I can only speculate that they wouldnt be interested unless theyre ideological, he said, referring to traditional venture investors.
It’s a great idea!
Corporate ad dollars is what turned all of these social media sites into the dumpster fires they are today.
“He does not believe he can get investment from Silicon Valley because he is in direct competition with them. “
Almost every Silicon Valley firm was in direct competition with some existing company when it started.
Sites some work and I hope it doesnt just turn into a republican echo chamber.
Hmm but not on this scale I don’t think...
He must think its a problem for some reason...
Big Tech's censorship needs a good beat-down. I'm in for helping give it to them.
My fear is leftist agent provocateurs will start posting a bunch of racist crap on it.
He is trying to keep them out.
That’s why its not easy to sign up.
He had ANTIFA attacking last night...
Donsubscriptions. For the price of a magazine each month. It could easily be fully funded.
One rule would remove 90% of the trouble makers. He civil and then subset the definition and enforce it.
That’s not a bad idea.. kind of like the Netflix/Amazon business model.
But i’m not sure if its common in social media to fund that way...
My fear is leftist agent provocateurs will start posting a bunch of racist crap on it.
+++++
Or porn. Or foul language.
That has already happened. I am very new to Parler but I have run across posters several times who had been registered for only a few hours posting this sort of crap. It is very clear that Parler is being attacked.
It is likely that this has been going on for some time.
I’m now a member, but have not figured out how to use it. Just an empty screen with nothing worth clicking on.
Search ‘Rand Paul’ in the box at the top and click Follow to get started ...
How long before Google buys it ?
Thanks!
I did find out that the greyed out buttons at the bottom are actually functional. They at least get you into some sort of random news thing. But I’ll try that.
Once you Follow ‘Rand Paul’ it will start suggesting people to Follow on the right hand side of the screen
Or just search them out... like ‘Hannity’
‘Mark Levin’ is also a good account to follow he is always posting stuff
What a great idea! It could be called an Initial Public Offering or something like that.
Tap...tap...tappp
Hello?
Crowd funding/Go Fund Me is run by Big Tech...
