RE: Orangeskins
Our family has taken an internal poll. The votes cast:
Pigskins - 1; might offend Muslims
Foreskins - 1; might offend Jews
Dickskinners - 1; might offend Women
Possums - 6; seems apt as a mascot ‘cause they play dead at home and get killed on the road (credit to my 82-year-old father and life-long fan of the Redskins)
BWAhahahaha
(How can I unteach my 32-year-old son the lyrics to this fight song?!)

Re: the Fauci meme and his 2005 study
*************************
I have read the study, too, which is why I went ahead and posted the meme to FB.
If someone can locate/share the study - I did not save it - I WILL post again the meme and include a link to the study.

NOTE:
Although in his position at the time (2005),
it is likely Fauci knew about these studies,
and should have know about them, his signatures
are not in evidence. By 2013, however,
there can be little doubt that Fauci knew.

And...
“Dr. Anthony Fauci, whose expert advice to President Trump
has resulted in the complete shutdown of the greatest
economic engine in world history, has known since 2005 that
chloroquine is an effective inhibitor of coronaviruses.
How did he know this? Because of research done by the
National Institutes of Health, of which he is the director.
In connection with the SARS outbreak - caused by a
coronavirus dubbed SARS- CoV - the NIH researched
chloroquine and concluded that it was effective at stopping
the SARS coronavirus in its tracks. The COVID-19 bug is
likewise a coronavirus, labeled SARS-CoV-2. While not
exactly the same virus as SARS-CoV-1, it is genetically
related to it, and shares 79% of its genome, as the name
SARS-CoV-2 implies. They both use the same host cell
receptor, which is what viruses use to gain entry to the
cell and infect the victim...”
And the publication of the NIH Chloroquine study itself:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1232869/
Background
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is caused by a
newly discovered coronavirus (SARS-CoV). No effective
prophylactic or post-exposure therapy is currently
available.
Results
We report, however, that chloroquine has strong antiviral
effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These
inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated
with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus,
suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage. In
addition to the well-known functions of chloroquine such as
elevations of endosomal pH, the drug appears to interfere
with terminal glycosylation of the cellular receptor,
angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. This may negatively
influence the virus-receptor binding and abrogate the
infection, with further ramifications by the elevation of
vesicular pH, resulting in the inhibition of infection and
spread of SARS CoV at clinically admissible concentrations.
Conclusion
Chloroquine is effective in preventing the spread of SARS
CoV in cell culture. Favorable inhibition of virus spread
was observed when the cells were either treated with
chloroquine prior to or after SARS CoV infection. In
addition, the indirect immunofluorescence assay described
herein represents a simple and rapid method for screening
SARS-CoV antiviral compounds.

Fauxi praised use of hydroxychloroquine in 2013 to treat
the MERS corona virus. Risky drug in 2020?
...On March 20th Dr. Fauci corrected the president during
a press briefing on hydroxychloroquine saying, You got to
be careful when you say fairly effective. It was never
done in a clinical trial
It was given to individuals and
felt that maybe it worked....
...Exactly two weeks later hydroxychloroquine was deemed the
most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus in an
international poll of more than 6,000 doctors...
...But he wasnt so skeptical back in 2013.
In fact, Dr. Anthony Fauci cheered the use of
hydroxychloroquine appeared effective only in cells in lab
dishes in treatment of against MERS...
...But in 2020 after several successful studies of
hydroxychloroquines effectiveness in treating coronavirus
patients he was suspect...

Latest message from FB pertaining to my attempt to post the Fauci article from OneNewsNow.com:
“False Information in This Post
Independent fact-checkers at Science Feedback and PolitiFact say this post has false information. To help stop the spread of false news, a notice will be added to your post if you decide to share this.”
Blah, blah, blah.
So, I just finished reading the PolitiFact blog post that FB used to deter me from sharing the OneNewsNow.com article.
FB “allowed” me to post links to the other articles, but not the one that provides “Your Latest News from a Christian perspective.”
I get it.
