This story is greatly underreported - because the CCP isn’t allowing its media to even admit that it is happening.

It was irresponsible to build the Three Gorges Dam.

The Anhui provincial meteorological service on Sunday raised the rainstorm response to the second level from the third level.
The agency forecast that flash floods have a bigger chance of wreaking havoc in cities like Huangshan, Chizhou, Tongling and Anqing in the province.
It urged authorities in the cities to timely release early warning information and evacuate residents in advance to avoid being affected by flash floods.

The Chinese Government has four goals for the Three Gorges Dam project:
1. Flood Control: The history of the Yangtze River includes many devastating floods over the centuries killing thousands of people and causing millions of dollars in damages. The dam will reduce the impacts of flooding since it will have a flood control capacity of 22.15 billion cubic meters.
2. Power Generation: The use of hydroelectric turbine generators will reduce China’s dependency on coal, a hydro carbon that produces greenhouse gases. The Three Gorges Dam will produce about 84.6 billion kilowatt hours of clean energy annually.
3. Navigation: The presence of the dam, the reservoir, and the ship locks will allow large ships to travel up and downstream for the first time. Ships from Chongquing will be able to transport goods all the way to the sea at Shanghai.
4. Tourism: Since the Three Gorges Dam Project is the largest hydroelectric dam in the world, it is expected to be popular among tourists visiting China.
The Chinese Government had four goals for the Three Gorges Dam project:
A million people displaced or dead in any country but China means that the government falls.

In the next 10 hours there will be a lot of water coming to Wuhan: More flooding from the Yangtze river, but as well heavy raining - more than 1 inch/h !
Many companies and plants in Wuhan will be destroyed, the supply chains for many industries both in China and outside will be impacted.
This is just with the present situation, if the Three Gorges Dam will collapse it will be a super disaster.
