I think most have realized by now how foolish this all is. The nursing home staff, includes cooks, dishwashers, floor cleaners, nurses, dr. , laundry detail, etc. They are all free to come and go, but visitors put folks at risk? yeah right. Who knows where these workers were between shifts.
I say just go visit and tell them to pound sand. If they threaten to arrest, then we will know to stop supporting the folks threatening to arrest.

Definitely-being a determined and persistant yet courteous objector can often yield results, and is always worth a try.
Maybe even threaten to move them to a competitor if there is one, unless they compromise.
I wonder about a window on ground floor level open the window and let the family give each other hugs or something.
But the thing I wonder is this: If they have testing for POTUS and people visiting white house that is apparently done in minutes, why can’t the nursing homes get these tests, if they are in short supply, then they could allow visits on a schedule.
Another idea—what if all the guardians/relatives of the residents got together and signed a petition that would authorize visits and indemnify the nursing home from liability or something.
Old people need their family visits to keep going—there’s got to be something else to do to allow this.

I don’t think there will ever be a concession between us on this point. We do not need permission from some govt. official to see our parents. Period.
