I need to write an article titled, “My dad was a victim of the COVID police state”. In February I flew to Vancouver to arrange his 90th birthday celebration. He lives in a care home, but he has several relatives in the area who assembled for what he called the best birthday of his life. In the midst of the celebration he declared his intention to live to 100. Although he had hearing problems and arthritic knees, he was alert, sharp, and humorous, with no significant memory problems. He could walk with a walker, and his part-time personal assistant would regularly take him out shopping or banking.

Three months into COVID, he was wheelchair-bound and bored out of his skull. His personal assistant could not enter the building to check up on him, nor take him out for exercise. Though COVID-free, he was declining faster than he needed to. Three weeks ago, he contracted pneumonia and went into the hospital. Antibiotics took care of the pneumonia, but he suffered a heart attack in the hospital and is now in palliative care, awaiting death. (Now that he’s in palliative care, I can finally be with him, for “compassionate” reasons.)

I don’t know that his accelerated death was due to COVID confinement, but as you can tell, I have my suspicions.

My family was able to see my 96 year old mother-in-law last week through a window. They gave her a phone so we could talk to each other. However, she is hard of hearing and was unable to understand what we were saying. It was a frustrating experience for all, including the staff. They know what the residents are going through.

Prayers for your father and family.

I have no doubt that the confinement and no family visits or outings contributed to his health decline.

Those people who forced this insanity on people are HEARTLESS.

I’m really sorry about your dad and his quick decline. I simply hate what this Wuhanflu has done to our elderly and those in nursing homes.

My dad, is almost 92, was housebound due to his wife. My younger sister was shopping for them and trying to cook meals since she lives there.

My older sister is 10 hours away, I’m 6 hours away. (Dad’s wife’s children are useless) Well, dad’s wife fell a couple of weeks ago, broke her collar bone. They gave her Norco for pain. Dad mixed 2 meds, she passed out, but we think she may have had a stroke.

Now she’s in a care facility and no one can visit for 2 weeks due to this stupid virus. She’s in quarantine. It’s a nightmare all around. My dad just can’t care for her properly, even though he thinks he can and there just isn’t enough money for full time care at home. It’s a nightmare.

I’ll be praying for your dad and you. Horrible. It’s horrible what “virus” has done. We were asked to flatten the curve. We did. But then the dems have taken it to another level.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

It sounds like his death was accelerated by COVID confinement.

Isolation from friends/family, inactivity, stress all impair immunity. I recall some medical “leakers” sounding the alarm bell that the lockdown conditions would mean more people would sicken and possibly die from illness in general. They also noted that our immune systems would certainly be depressed and more receptive to the Covid-19 which we were locked down for; it’s not going away but we’d emerge from our cocoons with reduced immunity.

Several medical people talked about how the constant fear being promoted through MSM/Social Media and the loss of jobs, businesses, and being advised our lives were changed forever were going to have measurable, negative impacts on human health.

Two immunologists talked about how our immune system is impaired in isolation because we are designed to be out and about, touching surfaces and people, which repeatedly tunes our immune system and keeps it working. Both doctors said that by ceasing to interact with the world the way we normally do, we’re significantly reducing the fitness of our immune system. They were saying this about time frames of a few weeks to a month and seemed appalled at the idea of months, promising we’d see health impairment. :(
