Kudzu was also an outstanding comic strip. I got to meet Doug Marlette when he was the staff cartoonist for the Charlotte Observer and I was in school at UNC.

An amazing cast of characters. My favorite was Rev. Will B. Dunn.

I think I would like the Kudzo comic strip. What you said and an instant search reminded me of Pogo. My much older sister had Pogo books and I learned how to read with them, around age 4. I didn’t get most of it (obviously) but I loved those books.
