Two involved shootings; one of those seemed to be on the up-and-up, as he shot a guy going bezerk with a knife. The other, IIRC, involved and Indian (feather not dot). There are several Indian Reservations in Minnesota.
Every time, the county attorney declined to pursue the matter.
At least part of that time, Amy Klobuchar was the County Attorney for Hennepin County.
(She went to Yale; her dad was a famous newspaper columnist for the Star & Sickle. He wrote a column late in his career apologizing for being arrested for drunk driving.)
I got filled in by native Minneapolitans many years ago about what was then - and may still be - called "Chippietown" (shorthand for the Mpls "reservation"). If a person needed to lose a few pints of blood real fast, it was a handy place.
