“Most churches are unfortunately requiring masks.”

Ours doesn’t. I Haven’t heard of any in TN requiring masks — although I’m sure there are some. I notice that the very elderly wear them, but that’s about 5% of the congregation, and I don’t blame them.

Mom is 96 and she won’t wear one to church.

Good for mom. Most here in colorado are requiring masks but hopefully that trend decreases with time

I live in Florida and I’m a Catholic. The bishops are worse than the governor even than the theoretically GOP mayor.

It was individual priests and individual churches that flew below the radar and just kept the faith. Not all of them did and some priests just shut their churches - so the people went elsewhere. The churches they went to will thrive.

For reasons I don’t understand, virtually none of the Mainline Protestant churches have opened up again. I think it’s because some of them were non-sacramental which means they didn’t have to have an in-person service but just a sermon, so people are listening on the Internet. But I was surprised because the big Episcopal church (a sacramental church ) across the street has still not opened up.

I’m not a Protestant but this isn’t meant as a criticism. I just don’t know why they’re not opening in a state where it would be permitted.
