Stereotypes exist for a reason-people don’t generally have time to get to know the content of everyone’s character with whom they cross paths, and so must rely on general or statistical patterns of behavior of a given group, and when a given group is known statistically,as a group, to engage in criminal/violent behavior, it would be stupid not to react accordingly, not having time to vet each individual’s character.

And yes, always, they make the criminal into a saint-another trick is to call a 25 to with a felony record a mile long, a “young man”, and other such disingenuous tricks to make the criminal seem like just a young mischievous boy, or calling hardened criminals in their 30s, “youths”.

Curious you'd put it that way, nobody yet that I've seen has noticed the connection -- or rather contrast -- between the historical term "wide awake" and our modern corruption into "woke".

1860 Wide Awakes were young Republican Lincoln loyalists, basically a uniformed marching unit whose purpose was to keep order at political rallies.
Their slogan was, "Free Speech, Free Soil, Free Men".
Their peak was said to be over 500,000 Wide Awakes with chapters in every northern county.

What exactly "wokeness" means today is anybody's guess, but something to do with alleged racism, sexism, classism, police brutality and Black Lives Matter.
"Wokeness", seemingly, is how peaceful demonstrators by day become at night rioters, arsonists, looters & assaulters of anybody in their way.

"Wide Awake" is an honorable tradition, translated today would be young conservatives & Trump loyalists.
"Woke" is just Democrats doing what Democrats do -- corrupting the language while they corrupt or destroy everything else they touch.
